ASMM welcomes cruise ship passengers to our city
Over the next two weeks the city of Port Lincoln is again looking forward to welcoming visitors aboard the cruise ships Volendam and Pacific Explorer .
Axel Stenross Maritime Museum will be open from 9am – 4.30pm on Tuesday February 20th, Thursday February 22nd and Tuesday 27th February. We will be offering a discounted entry fee of $8 per adult to all visitors. Visiting the museum is a great way to learn about the story of Axel Stenross and Frank Laakso and their history of wooden boat building, along with maritime history of Port Lincoln and the growth of its iconic fishing industry.

There are a number of ways that cruise ship visitors can arrive at Axel Stenross Maritime Museum:
- Some will take the opportunity to stretch their legs and enjoy the 20-30 minute walk along the Parnkalla Trail. This gives a great view of Boston Bay and passes the site of the First Landing of European settlers in the Port.
- You may then choose to purchase a ‘one-way’ ticket for $5 pp to travel, from the museum to the CBD only, on the Hop On Hop Off bus.
- Some will choose to share an economical taxi ride from the foreshore – easy to get and only a 5 minute ride to the Museum.
- The guided Hop On Hop Off bus stops at museums and local tourist spots and will enable guests to view a variety of Port Lincoln highlights, picking up/dropping off approximately every half hour from the CBD centre.
- Some will have booked on a tour such as EP Bus Charters Seafood Story. This tour incorporates a visit to Axel Stenross Maritime Museum, along with other sites.
